A watchmaker by training, he founded a watchmaking house with his wife June, which they named after his pseudonym. Founded in 1951 and internationally renowned, the Obrey company is distinguished by its original designs: watches on solid silver chains, models with highly distinctive shapes and lines, and dials without numerals on which the hands indicate the time without the aid of numbers or hour markers. According to family tradition, Émile Isman received our vase from an ambassador or diplomat stationed in China at an unspecified time.
