Corrida, circa 1930 25 original gelatin-silver prints 23 prints: 17 x 22 cm Hm: 12,8 x 18 cm and 2 prints: 17,2 x 12,7 cm and 12,3 x 18 cm Bullfight, circa 1930 25 original gelatin-silver prints 23 prints: 6.7 x 8.67 inch. Hm: 5.04 x 7.09 inch. and 2 prints: 6.78 x 5 inch. and 4.85 x 7.09 inch. Note: The film Corrida was found in Man Ray's studio on rue Férou in 1985 and was presented as part of the Man Ray cinéaste exhibition (Fondation Bismarck) in 1986. Lucien Treillard found these photographs in the archives of Ady Fidelin, who was Man Ray's companion from 1935 to 1940. The theme of killing is a component of surrealism. One of the images in this series was also used in a very different context: the booklet Exposition Coloniale Internationale, reportage by Man Ray (1931) presents three images, including an aloe (cf. lot n°124) and a pornographic image, thus reinforcing the sadistic aspect of the bullfight.
