French armorial bearings, forged stamp in two pieces with fluted decoration and engraved nets; the crest is finished by a bead and carries, in the middle, a point in the shape of spiral pear; on the back of the stamp and the bottom of the crest, is fixed by rivets, a holder-plumail; visor has right sight, decorated with cut out and engraved festoons, on the top, and equipped with rivets of brass above the sight; the ventail is also bordered with rivets as well as in the middle, on each side; the lower part is also cut out with festoons; the chinrest carries the hook of fixing of the ventail, it presents the same festoons on the back and is maintained with the stamp by a leather strap; colletin with six cut out half-lamellas, engraved in continuation, and decorated with rivets, the lower part of the last two blades ends in a bead. (Oxidation and wear; sight stem probably shortened; later colletin). Louis XIII period, circa 1630. Fairly good condition. PROVENANCE : former collection CORBIN, castle of C., then, by inheritance, collection BARJON. Only the brass rivet of the CORBIN label remains.
