Colette de Ginestet and Catherine Pouillon. - Paris, 1979, 661 Note: The lodge is a famous work painted in 1874 by Pierre Auguste RENOIR. Considered as one of his major works, it is part of the Collection of the Courtauld Gallery in London. The models are Edouard RENOIR, brother of the artist, and Nini LOPEZ, nicknamed "tête de poisson" who poses for the first time for Renoir. The lodge is part of the first group of Impressionist works exhibited in 1874. Critics were divided, some saw the woman as a warning against the danger of the fashion industry, others praised her elegance.
