An important piece of dining room furniture comprising: -A set of six high-back chairs, finished with turned bronze elements. Free-form patinated metal and patinated leather seats strapped to the structure. Signed and monogrammed, located in Cannes. H. 126, 129 W. 48 D. 50 cm approx . -Table consisting of a free-form wrought and repoussé iron frame, the legs joined by a spacer. Walnut top inlaid with bone and engraved metal plates. Signed on gold plate H. 76 L. 157 (265 with the two extensions) P. 90 cm Sido and François Thévenin friends of Picasso, César, Cocteau, Brassaï, Druon, Prévert... will be in charge of the magnificent building sites of the Costa Smeralda in Sardinia, ordered by the Aga Khan. They have also collaborated with the famous architect Jacques Couelle, notably for the Castelleras estate (90 houses with natural forms), offering the architect/sculptor tandem an unrivalled range of creations in wrought iron, stainless steel, boiler-plate brass... A copy of a letter from the artists addressed to their client, as well as copies of the preparatory drawings for the realization of this exceptional commission, are attached to this set.
